It is remarkable that a small country such as the Netherlands attracts so much foreign investment. According to the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, the country was home to almost 7,800 establishments of foreign companies. In 2007, foreign companies made inward direct investments to the value of 673 billion US dollars. As a result, the Netherlands is the world’s sixth-largest recipient of foreign investment.
